My Approach to Therapy

Therapy is about creating a safe place where you feel you are not judged. Once that space is available to you, it is easier to open up, to process, and get to the root of your suffering.
We will take advantage of a variety of Evidenced-Based Practices depending on what you need in the moment.
I take a Humanistic approach to therapy, meaning I believe that people can grow, change, and self-actualize.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness are my base practices. I help you learn to be aware of your thoughts and behaviors so that you can decide in the moment to make changes.
In addition, using Emotionally Focused Therapy is helpful sometimes to identify those primal evolutionary feelings and responses brought out in relational conflicts. Once identified, we can find strategies for more helpful interactions.
